Fence Wood Bar Top

La Joya Dulce has nine linear miles of wood fencing. With distinctive black paint, our fences make great photo backdrops for Steamboat Springs ranch weddings.

Our neighbors, Matt and Christie Belton, had similar fencing (but without the black paint). They are replacing the wood with a welded steel fence. More practical (but less pretty). Matt asked if we wanted the old fence boards, so we picked up a few loads. Wayne turned a few of the boards into a new rustic bar top.

Horses sometimes like to chew wood, and you can see the results of that on the edges of the bar top.

The bar top is seven feet long, which is a great size to go on top of a couple oak wine barrels. Looks good outside or in La Joya Dulce’s barn. (Did you know we have Steamboat’s only wedding and event barn?)

The bar top was created in Wayne’s workshop. He used hand planes to partially smooth the surface and to get rid of splinters. But he stopped planing to allow some of the weathered texture to remain.

The bar top got four coats of varnish, so a spilled drink isn’t going to bother it.

The bar top and the wine barrels are included (along with lots of other goodies) at no extra charge. We want to make your Steamboat Springs ranch wedding a special day!
