Hey Wall Street Journal — Our Barn is Great!

The Wall Street Journal has a problem with barn weddings. Here’s the headline on a September 15, 2018 article: “Barn Weddings Are Hot — and Smelly, Muddy and Prone to Four-Legged Crashers.”

Humph. La Joya Dulce has a nice barn!

In fact, we have the only event barn in Steamboat Springs. Some nearby venues have a barn that makes a nice photo backdrop, or that can be used by only a few people. We went through a long process to upgrade our barn so it is fully functional for our guests. You can have your wedding banquet in our barn (it easily seats 150 guests, with extra room for buffet tables and a bar). You can serve cocktails in our barn (we even provide multiple bars for you to use). You can dance in or outside our barn (we will set up our hardwood dance floor if you like, or just dance on the red rubber pavers).

Our barn isn’t smelly, and it certainly isn’t muddy. We have four legged residents (cows and horses), but we have fences, so they can’t crash the party.

OK, once in a while we let them crash the party.

To be fair, even the Wall Street Journal recognizes that some barns have “renovated bathrooms.” Yes, we do! Our barn has two brand new, beautiful, ADA-compliant bathrooms. We reserve these bathrooms for the wedding party and any disabled guests. (And for everyone else, there is our luxury toilet trailer, so no one has to go rustic.)

We are proud to offer our guests the charm and fun of a Steamboat Springs ranch wedding, complete with Steamboat’s only event barn. Learn more about our amenities and venue facilities
