Biggest party ever?
What’s the biggest room in your house or apartment? We looked up some room sizes — 15 feet by 28 feet (420 square feet) is considered a large living room. How big is your entire house or apartment? The average new house built in the United States in 2016 was 2,422 square feet. The average apartment is 882 square feet.
La Joya Dulce’s biggest room is our 12,600 square foot Pavilion. It is 90 feet by 140 feet. That’s as big as 5 houses, or 14 apartments, or 30 living rooms.
It is just plain fun to throw a party in such a huge space. The Pavilion is strung with hundreds of market lights, and the space is just waiting for your personal decorations. Both ends of the arena have huge roll-up doors, and the view from the south side is spectacular.
The Pavilion can be used for your wedding reception, and that makes sense of you have a lot of guests (our permit allows up to 400). If you’ve got 150 or fewer guests, you might want your banquet in our beautiful event barn, and then the Pavilion can be set up for a party.
One of our favorite set ups for the Pavilion had two bars, a dance floor and tables at the south end, near the roll-up doors which were open to the great view. The rest of the Pavilion was set up for games — bocce ball, washers and cornhole. And there was still plenty of room for the conga line to snake through.
