Bridezilla, Donuts, Lumiere … and Elvis

We keep improving La Joya Dulce, so your Steamboat Springs ranch wedding will be better and better! Lots of new things to talk about….

We make about 50 acres of La Joya Dulce available for our couples to use. Photographers often like to whisk couples to the far corners of the ranch to get a variety of backgrounds and looks to their photos. Family members sometimes need to get back and forth between our preparation area and our main ceremony and reception sites. Enter our transportation solution, a six-person limo-style golf cart. We call her Bridezilla, but she’s actually well behaved.

We like donuts, but until a week ago Wayne had never heard of a donut wall. Now, La Joya Dulce has its own donut wall, thanks to Jordyn and Austin Little. Jordyn and Austin set up their Steamboat Springs ranch wedding as a brunch, and they brought a custom, hand-made donut wall.

The donut wall is now part of our “Share the Love” program. Share the Love is what we call our ever-growing inventory of wedding items – vases, LED candles, signs, serving items, and other decorations. Use of those items is included with our packages at no extra charge. Our couples sometimes bring in new and unique items that they only intend to use once, and if they leave those behind, we add them to the Share the Love inventory. We encourage our couples to have their "something borrowed" be from our Share the Love inventory.

The donut wall is an unusually generous example, and we are grateful to Jordyn and Austin for adding it to the inventory. So, if you want donuts at your Steamboat Springs ranch wedding, we have the wall.

We don’t normally name light fixtures, but Lumiere is special. Actually, there are two Lumieres, both hanging in our event arena. Our arena is over 12,000 square feet. It is strung with hundreds of market lights, and now our two wrought iron chandeliers.

A ranch wedding is often a mix of elegant and rustic, and our Lumieres fit that theme perfectly.

Finally, Elvis is on the property. Horses are a must for a Steamboat Springs ranch. Elvis is an American Saddlebred we recently rescued. He’s calm and gentle, so our ranch wedding guests can pet his neck and give him a scratch. We are getting to know Elvis better, and we think he will soon be available for riding. (Contact us for more information if you’d like horseback riding to be part of your wedding day.)

Why did we name him Elvis? He’s from Mississippi, like his famous namesake.

Thank you, thank you very much.
