La Joya Dulce has the only barn in Steamboat that can actually be used for an event.

Our barn started as an agricultural building — it was built to shelter the llamas of Steamboat Llama Ranch. There is no building code to protect llamas (or other livestock), but the building code has strong rules to protect humans. So if an agricultural barn is going to be used as an event space for people, the barn has to be extensively upgraded to come up to code. It is an expensive and time-consuming process. La Joya Dulce completed that process for our barn, and we are Steamboat’s only venue to do so.

But where are the llamas?

As part of the upgrade, we added two beautiful new bathrooms to our barn. The bathrooms (along with our trophy room) can be used as a wedding-day preparation area.
