Top 7 Reasons to Watch Yuletide the Knot on UPtv

If you're a fan of heartwarming holiday films, breathtaking wedding venues, or just love getting lost in the magic of a good romantic story, Yuletide The Knot on UPtv is a must-watch. Filmed at the stunning La Joya Dulce Colorado Ranch Wedding Venue, this enchanting film offers a delightful escape into a world where love, laughter, and a dash of Christmas spirit come together perfectly. We have also found that this was the very first full length film to be shot in Steamboat Springs. While there have been commercials shot (even at the ranch) and a reality TV series? Our lovely film was the first one shot entirely on location in Steamboat (you may also recognize Smell that Bread bakery, Lincoln Street in front of Ohana, and Steamboat Floral.

Here are the top reasons why Yuletide The Knot should be on your festive watchlist this holiday season. As it was shot nearly entirely on the ranch? Read our Behind the scenes to get the “scoop” on what was happening during and after the filming! Make sure you go to the end - we got to go to the premier held in Los Angeles!

1. A Breathtaking Setting

La Joya Dulce Colorado Ranch provides a picturesque backdrop that captures the essence of a perfect winter wonderland. Nestled in the scenic beauty of Colorado, the ranch's sweeping landscapes and rustic charm add an extra layer of magic to the film. Behind the scenes: Filmed in late March / early April, snow was a concern. So while we had some snow? Hollywood magic did take over for some scenes. They use cotton batting and to this day? We are still finding it in the trees by the ceremony space!

Locations on the ranch that were used - our driveway (and our truck) featured prominently in a few scenes. The ceremony space doubled both for the ceremony as well as the tree farm. The barn was used throughout - including our catering accommodations area where the cake was frosted. The horse barn featured our very own champion Saddlebred, Miss P - and if you look closely, you will see Elvis hiding in the stall next door. Not known? To keep Miss P at the front of the stall? Mandy was crouched behind the stall door feeding her peppermints. Our house was used for all four homes. “Rachel’s” bedroom was the large bedroom downstairs while the kitchen where Logan and his mom have their heart to heart? Is recognizable as the rest of the wedding prep area.

The kitchen shown is our kitchen and Thanksgiving dinner is held at our dining room table. Christmas and girl talks are on the sofa in our great room, while Logan’s family’s home is our upgraded prep area.

2. A Heartwarming Plot

At its core, Yuletide The Knot is a story about love, family, and second chances. The film beautifully weaves together themes of forgiveness, rediscovery, and the joy of finding love during the most wonderful time of the year.

3. Familiar Faces

UPtv has gathered a talented cast that brings the story to life with warmth and authenticity. Fans will enjoy seeing some familiar faces from beloved holiday films and discovering new favorites in the process. Behind the scenes: For those getting married on the ranch? You might recognize Miss P at the beginning and in two other scenes, including when Rachel gets some quiet time in the horse barn. Kathie and Wayne both have speaking parts - as Sherry and Robert, Logan’s parents.

Kathie as Sherry, Peter Porte as Logan, and Wayne as Robert - we still joke about “mom” and “dad”

4. Stunning Cinematography

From the twinkling lights of snowy streets to the intimate close-ups of characters sharing heartfelt moments, the film's cinematography is nothing short of breathtaking. It perfectly captures the beauty of both the season and the venue, making every scene a visual treat. Behind the scenes: All drone shots came from an actual wedding shot at La Joya Dulce and were provided by Mika Mitchell.

5. Perfect Wedding Inspiration

For engaged couples and wedding enthusiasts, the film offers a treasure trove of inspiration. From wedding planners to elegant decor to heartfelt vows, each aspect of the celebration is sure to spark ideas for your own special day.

6. Festive Romance Perfect for Hallmark Movie Lovers

If you're a fan of Hallmark-style romances, this film offers all the elements you love—a charming setting, engaging plot, and a satisfying romantic arc—wrapped up in a holiday package. One of the film's most compelling elements is its exploration of redemption and making amends. The story shows how the magic of Christmas can bring people together and heal old wounds, creating a powerful emotional impact.

7. Holiday Watch Party

Yuletide the Knot is great for holiday gatherings; it’s family-friendly, fun, and will get everyone in the holiday spirit. While we did have a group watch party last year (sorry, no photo), it’s now a family holiday tradition here (and yes, we watched it innumerable times with family!)

Behind the Scenes

We were able to shoot a few videos of the cast hard at work. The treelighting ceremony was shot at about 1 am, and the scenes down in the prep area ran until 4 am. Only Peter (as Logan) coming out of the trees was shot during daylight hours.

The Premier!

Having just returned from Spain, we were unsure as to whether we could make the cast party or not - but we did! It was held in Beverly Hills at the Wilshire Fine Arts theatre. We were able to invite friends, so had a whole contingent of our friends from Southern California who joined us (and the rest of the cast) for drinks, food and the first screening.

And the best part? We made more friends - from the director to production staff to the leads. We are still in contact with them and they are all invited (and some have) to spend time with us here at the ranch.

Whether you're planning a wedding, a fan of holiday movies, or simply looking for a captivating story to warm your heart, Yuletide The Knot is a film that promises to deliver all the enchantment of the holiday season. Make sure to tune in and allow the joy, romance, and beauty of this charming film to sweep you away.
