Choose the Perfect Location: Many couples will start their search for an elopement location in Denver, Telluride, Vail or other well known tourist destinations. But we recommend one of the most beautiful cities in Colorado, Steamboat Springs. Our Colorado hot spring and ski town, stands out with its distinctive American Western ambiance. Cowboy hats, rodeo & ski life reflect a culture that embraces the great outdoors. Steamboat Springs boasts two ski areas, charming downtown, a thriving art scene, world class cuisine, geothermal hot springs, and a state park just to the north. Whether you're planning a small elopement or more of a micro wedding, Steamboat Spring has everything your heart desires.

Choose Your Elopement Wedding Venue: while there are hundreds of wedding venues from Denver to Durango, there is one that truly stands out for luxury ranch wedding elopements, La Joya Dulce. We are a locally owned and operated and a true western working ranch. At La Joya Dulce you will find acres of rolling hills, mountain views, gorgeous greenery and breathtaking natural beauty. Our wedding ceremony location is unbelievably majestic. Our eloping couples feel as though have enjoyed a grand experience, lacking nothing as they enjoy their intimate luxury experience.

Obtain Your Marriage License: Before you can legally tie the knot in Colorado, you'll need to obtain a marriage license. Both parties must appear in person at a county clerk's office to apply for a marriage license. You will need to provide identification (such as a driver's license or passport) and pay a fee. There is no waiting period once you receive your marriage license, so you can get married on the same day if you choose.

Hire Vendors: While one of the benefits of eloping is keeping things simple and intimate, you may still want to hire vendors such as a photographer, officiant, and florist to help make your day special. There are many talented vendors in Colorado who specialize in elopements and intimate weddings and can help bring your vision to life.

Consider the Weather: Colorado is known for its unpredictable weather, especially at higher elevations. Be sure to check the weather forecast leading up to your elopement date and have backup plans in case of inclement weather. From snowstorms in May to afternoon thunderstorms in the summer months, it's always best to be prepared when getting married outdoors in Colorado. At La Joya Dulce, you won't have to worry about weather, we have several wedding ceremony sites, including our charming barn
